Our bespoke Bonjour French Programme is tailored to develop the language skills in our children and ignite their interest in the French language.
Lessons typically start with a French song and some puppetry before children move into circle time to learn the essential phrases in French. Every child develops his/her spoken French skills and their love for the language.
Children move on to learning French through picture books, songs and gestures before going into learning some French vocabulary with the use of picture cards.The French programme is integrated within our EYFS curriculum to provide a holistic experience for every child learning French within the nursery setting.
Bonjour French Programme
Our bespoke Arabic programme focuses on the essential language comprehension skill of speaking. The programme integrates with the EYFS curriculum with an emphasis on cross-curricular links through central themes that the children explore in class.
The children cover Arabic greetings, letters, vocabulary, colours, and numbers through music and play activities that make learning all the more fun!
The objective of the programme is to kindle an appreciation of the Arabic language amongst our children and to create a platform from which they can go on to study Arabic in primary school.
Marhaba Arabic Programme
Our Mini Chef lessons promote valuable life skills that teach children about nutrition and food safety, as well as building math, science, literacy and fine motor skills. We encourage each child’s interest and excitement in healthy foods by teaching them how to cook safely with age appropriate cooking activities.
Learning how to cook can also help promote social, mental and physical development in children. It’s never too early to bring your child in the kitchen!

Develops math, science and comprehension skills
Studies have shown that the best way for children to learn is through experience which is why at Ladybird we introduce our children to cooking as early as possible! To help our children learn about math, our teachers assign simple tasks such as counting fruits or measuring out ingredients like flour. Reading recipes along with them is another great way to help boost their comprehension skills and understand about different processes like blending or mixing. Cooking is also a great way to see science in action! Our children love seeing how the different ingredients are instantly transformed before their eyes into delicious dishes such as fruit pies and zuchinni bread!
Allows them to explore different food
It’s no secret that children are picky eaters but cooking helps them to be more adventurous when it comes to food! A curious child will always be eager to try a new dish if they’ve seen how it’s done and helped make it themselves. At Ladybird, we use cooking as a great way to introduce new food to our children. We let them try each ingredient and use this chance to teach them about which food is healthy for them and what it does for their body!
Teaches them about responsibilities
Spills and messes are to be expected when taking your little one into the kitchen. Instead of reprimanding them, we help them and show them the right way to clean up. Show them where the broom or dish rags are kept or the right process to dispose food scraps. Pretty soon, they’ll be able to do this on their own!
Helps them understand the importance of good hygiene
Cleaning up before cooking is a must for everyone! At Ladybird, we make it a point to help our kids wash up before entering the kitchen while teaching them the importance of staying clean, especially when handling food. It’s also a great opportunity to teach how to wash their hands properly!
Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the highly-trained teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.
Montessori classrooms are beautifully crafted environments designed to meet the needs of children in a specific age range. The Montessori Approach
Little Kickers introduces the foundations of football and ball skills. We focus on building confidence, listening, gross motor skills and coordination at this early and important stage of development. It nurtures a love and appreciation for group sports with the following added benefits:

Our Splish ‘n’ Splash programme is based on our creative interactive Splash Pad at both our locations. The splash pad brings out the curiosity and joy in all our children. Our themed showers and climb on frogs and turtles add to a wet and wonderful experience. The children discover the properties of water by splashing, pouring and scooping over and over again!
The Splish ‘n’ Splash programme transforms imagination into new dimensions in water play with dynamic custom designed splash pad that delivers adventure, visual excitement and imaginative fun. The programme engages five senses in different ways:
Sense of Sound can be engaged using:
– Various Types of Water Splashing
– Audio packages with sound FX and music built into features or the project as a whole
Sense of Touch can be engaged using:
–Variety in Textures of Water (aerated, solid stream, broken streams)

Splish 'n' Splash
The inspiration for our bespoke ‘Kidz Fit’ program started from Dubai’s Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad Al Maktoum and his fitness challenge. Research has proven a person who is fit is capable of living life to its fullest extent, physically and mentally. With this in mind, Ladybird Nursery has created an age appropriate program to instill the importance of fitness in our children. The activities involve ball skills, aerobics, parachute games and hoops and balancing activities.
Children experience a multitude of fun activities that involve playing with a ball. These include Throwing and catching, Bucket races, Kicking balls to knock down bottles/pins, Tunnels (go through and collect ball on the other side), Mini golf and kicking balls between cones. Not only is it incredibly entertaining for our children, it also helps develop gross and fine motor skills as well as stimulate creativity and help teach manners like taking turns.
Research has shown that children who do aerobic exercise tend to have better chances of being healthy adults without chronic disease. Our program introduces children to a range of aerobic activity including Jumping jacks, Squats, Boxing in air, Run around between cones and the renown Simon Says (hop, jump, touch toes)
Children love playing with recreational play parachutes and we are dedicated to promoting this fun, healthy activity. Not only are play parachutes great fun, they also teach teamwork and cooperation. By “Parachuting”, children increase their strength, agility, coordination, and endurance.
Hula hoops are a fun way for our children to strengthen muscles and improve coordination. As part of the programme, our children enjoy jumping in and out of them, playing musical games with them and running into them!
EYFS CURRICULUM IN A MONTESSORI SETTING
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in a Montessori Setting. The principles of Dr. Maria Montessori continue to be a basis of our teachings at Ladybird Nursery. The EYFS expresses these principles in the following terms which are both familiar in a Montessori setting and form a basis for our teachers and staff in their daily interactions with our children:

ABOUT EYFS CURRICULUM
Communication and Language
Children are given a wide range of opportunities to develop listening, communication skills and vocabulary. They have the freedom of speech and opportunities for conversation. Children’s attention, listening, understanding and speech development is enriched using books, storytelling, conversation, song, rhyme and phonics games.
Children develop gross and fine motor skills, a high degree of hand eye coordination and balance through “Practical Life” exercises. Utilizing both the indoor and outdoor environments, physical development becomes a natural part of the child’s activities in our settings. Music and movement also form an important part of the child’s development where they are given opportunities to practice their gross motor skills via dance, obstacle courses and movement games. Children are encouraged and empowered to care for themselves and to be independent in their self-care skills.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Children will be introduced to “Practical Life” lessons. Simple exercises such as threading, pouring and fastenings help children to concentrate, to be confident and to be independent. Children are given a wide range of opportunities to understand the rules and the feelings of others using a range of role-play and pictorial cues. Children also have the freedom to develop positive friendships and self-confidence through independence and freedom of choice.
Literacy lessons introduce phonetic sounds of the alphabet in an array of methods to lead the child towards writing, reading and developing their understanding and expressive skills. The methods include the visual representation of sandpaper letters, rich music, communication and rhyme, the moveable alphabet and short phonetic reading tasks. Insets for design are used to prepare the child for handwriting and development of pencil control alongside a range of “Practical Life” exercises and mark-making tools such as making dough, using chalk, painting, drawing and sand play.
Sensorial methods introduce the basics of mathematics into the child’s learning. They learn to count, combine, share, compare and really learn to understand mathematical concepts. Sensorial materials are designed to educate and train the senses of the child. They encourage the child to compare, contrast and to differentiate. They include activities with shapes, sizes, sequencing and patterns alongside the exploration of their environment. Water, sand and exploration of a wide range of materials facilitate the child’s awareness of texture, volume, length and capacity. Counting activities are offered in a mathematically-rich environment ranging from rhymes and games, to sandpaper numerals and spindle boxes. The children explore the recognition of numerals using the sandpaper numbers and are offered the opportunity to relate number to quantity using Montessori materials.
Understanding of the World
Cultural subjects such as geography, science and history, which enrich the child’s understanding of the world in which he/she lives, are an important part of our teaching. Opportunities to explore and care for the environment both indoor and outdoor are provided. Life cycles and nature are a common theme within the nursery where children learn about the natural world. Use of materials found in the natural world provides the foundations for art and creative work. Children are introduced to celebrations from around the world and the child will be encouraged to understand and value diversity in the world.
Expressive Arts and Design
Creative activities such as dance, acting nursery rhymes, role play, storytelling, art and design, junk modelling, painting, cutting and sticking, collages and drawing. A range of natural and man-made materials are offered for exploration. Weekly Music and Movement activities encourage the development of free expression and ideas. The children use their bodies, scarves and ribbons to interpret sound and rhythm. Children are offered a range of activities that include small world, role-play and a puppet theatre to develop their imaginative play and their creative minds.
At Ladybird children are taught to love a blend of music, movement, rhythm and dance. Our Music ‘n’ Moves curriculum provides benefits to the mental and physical development of the children whilst encouraging language growth and social interaction.
For children to fully benefit from their sensitive period for music, we give them opportunities to actively experience music and movement. The focus shifts from asking children to sit still and listen to encouraging them to move and to play or make music.
Teaching music in the Montessori early childhood environment is not just about singing songs. While that is fun, there is more to presenting music to preschool-age children. We choose a variety of songs to offer children additional learning opportunities:
Music 'n' Moves
To help young children fully benefit from their sensitive period for music, we give them numerous and repeated opportunities to practice music in developmentally appropriate ways. We must make the learning developmentally appropriate, model music elements in our daily life and encourage families to support and include music at home.
Teddy Tennis is an incredible sports programme that encourages children aged 2 to 6 years to get active and learn to play tennis. We combine Music, Pictures and Teddy Bear Characters into a totally interactive learning adventure that young children love.

What Makes It Special?
Teddy tennis’ curriculum based teaching system has been developed using the VISUAL AUDITORY KINESTHETIC (VAK) accelerated learning style.
Applying the VAK multi-sensory approach to teaching has proved to be very effective, particularly for the young children so when they play, they see it, they hear it, they do it! building blocks that enable children to foster a complete set of skills.
